Executive Sweet began as a lesbian-only party in 1982, serving Chicago’s Black lesbian community. In 1982 there were very few places were Black lesbians were welcomed. This piece celebrates the series and its founders, LGBTQ Hall of Famers Pat McCombs, Sharon Web and Vera Washington, through an intergenerational lens.
